Wayne Township Landfill

The following materials are recycled in Clinton County: paper, aluminum and steel cans; plastic bottles and jugs; motor oil, used car batteries; residential batteries’ and glass bottles & jars. Prepare the recyclables as indicated in the chart below.

Cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, six pack holders, tablet backs, clean food boxes.
Place with office paper, junk mail, magazines.
Milk cartons, juice cartons, ice cream containers and similar materials.
Newspaper
Clean Newspaper (including inserts).
Separate from mixed paper.
Wet or Dirty Newspaper.
Mixed Paper
Office paper, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, glossy paper, phone books.
Separate from newspaper.
Laminated or coated paper, tissue paper, and paper towels.
Corrugated Cardboard
Clean Corrugated cardboard.
Breakdown boxes.
Cereal boxes, six-pack carriers, waxed cardboard.
Cans
Aluminum, steel & tin food and beverage cans.
Rinse containers, and leave labels on.
Pie plates, aluminum foil, pesticide or herbicide spray cans.
Plastic Bottles & Jugs
Plastic bottles and jugs, coded #1 through #7, typically soda, milk, water, & laundry soap bottles.
Rinse bottles and jugs, remove lids, leave labels on.
Toys, motor oil bottles, or chemical bottles.

Used Vehicle Batteries
Lead-acid batteries from cars, trucks, boats, lawn mowers, etc.
Store intact. Exchange when purchasing a new battery or deliver to recycling facility.
Electric bike batteries.
Antifreeze
Engine anti-freeze free of contaminates.
Store in 1 gallon sturdy containers.
Oil or water contaminated anti-freeze.
Residential Batteries
Rechargeable and Single-Use Batteries.
Tape positive and negative terminals and place in plastic or cardboard container. Do not use a metal container for storage.
Electric bike batteries.
Glass Bottles and Jars
Glass beverage and food containers.
Remove lids and rinse. Labels may be left on.
No Glassware, Ceramics, Window Glass, Light Bulbs, Windshields, Pyrex, or similar items will be accepted.
